What is the concept of federalism? First let’s get a better understanding of what it means: Federalism- basically is about government power that is divided between a central government and regional government. So, what is the concept? Federalism has been an issue since the beginning, and still remains one especially in the different states. States have always done much of its everyday control. Federalism concept is a way for the national government still have some what of control over what we do. It is a stepping stone to allow the national government control over certain areas in the state, but also allows the states control as well. There has to be a compromise between national and regional government. I guess you can say the hands of the centralize government will always be priority. State interest were protected in many ways: especially where the senate is concerned. The states received equal representation, which is good when you are up against the national government as they probably did not see issues in the same light as that particular state. State also had the ability to tax, have a military inforce, and were able to have control commerce. Now it was getting to a point that the national government was taking over, which created the 10th amendment gave power back to the people and or states. The 10th amendment says:
